The Central Florida Knights go on the road to tangle with the Memphis Tigers at FedEx Forum.
Central Florida can be competitive when they put up points which are generally needed because opponents have been scoring them as well. Too much as it turned out Sunday in a 75-55 loss to visiting Connecticut in which the offense also stalled. The huskies led by 17 heading to the locker room before holding off a UCF come back to win going away. The Knights struggled offensively at 39% shooting with 18 giveaways which was all the 48% accuracy of the Huskies needed. Isaiah Sykes led the scoring with 17 points, five pulls and five assists followed by Justin McBride with 13 while Kasey Wilson chipped in with ten points and seven boards.

Memphis took a break from the AAC wars to tackle visiting Gonzaga on Saturday although 'taking a break' and facing Gonzaga is a contridiction in terms. The Tigers rallied past the Bulldogs for a 60-54 decision and proved they could win the defensive struggle versus a quality opponent. The Zags clearly won the shooting battle 45%-34.5% but the Tigers were up to the task on the glass with 16 offensive boards and turned 25 fouls in to a decisive 18-6 mark at the charity stripe. Four double digit scorers paced the Memphis offense with Chris Crawford and Michael Dixon Jr. tossing in eleven points and grabbing nine boards while Shaq Goodwin and Joe Jackson netted ten points each with Goodwin snagging eight rebounds.
The upper half of the AAC is always big favorites over the bottom half and big spreds are tough to cover all the time. I'm backing Memphis who is always tough at home and will need to be to cover...
