Storyline: The TCU Horned Frogs look for their first conference win of the season when they welcome Baylor to Daniel-Meyer Coliseum Wednesday.
The Breakdown: TCU isn’t playing for much more than pride at this point, having lost ten in a row and not seen the winning side of the ledger since the end of December. The Frogs got battered 84-69 by then #16 Iowa State Saturday behind a dismal 21 of 56 from the floor and 9 of 23 from outside the arc to the Cyclones’ 32 of 60 from the field and 7 of 21 from distance. TCU also conceded a 38-30 advantage on the boards and committed 11 turnovers. Junior G Kyan Anderson scored a team-high 28 points and dished out 8 assists, junior F Amric Fields had 18 points and 8 rebounds, and freshman C Karviar Shepherd added 11 points and 8 boards. On the season, the Horned Frogs are averaging 65.2 ppg on 41.0 percent shooting. Anderson leads the team with 15.7 ppg, followed by Fields at 13.9 ppg.

Meanwhile, Baylor sits just above TCU in 9th place in the Big 12, dropping to 2-8 after an 88-72 defeat at Oklahoma Saturday. The Bears were outdone from the field 53.6 percent to 42.4 percent and from outside the arc 48.3 percent to 39.1 percent. Baylor also conceded a 35-30 advantage on the boards and converted on 13 of 19 from the free throw line. Sophomore C Isaiah Austin matched a game-high 21 points to go with 6 rebounds, senior G Brady Heslip scored 12 points on 4 of 8 from downtown, and senior F Corey Jefferson added 8 points and n4 rebounds. Through 23 games, the Bears are averaging 74.5 ppg on 45.9 percent shooting. Jefferson leads the team with 12.4 ppg, followed by Heslip at 11.3 ppg.
Rick’s Pick: The line in this matchup is currently set at -6 for Baylor. The Bears are sliding big time, but TCU is in even worse shape. The Frogs appeared to be on their way to at least one conference win after close losses to Texas Tech and Texas, but got right back to getting stomped against Iowa State. If they have any shot at winning a Big 12 game this season, this is it. Look for at least a closer game than the line.
