The Akron Zips stay on the road when they pay a visit to the Western Michigan Broncos Wednesday.
Akron has not been as dominant as we have seen them in the last few years yet are still winning games which I'm sure is all that matters to them. The Zips built a double digit second half lead versus Bowling Green before escaping with a 65-63 victory. Both teams sank shots in the 47%-48% range while combining for 33 turnovers in a sloppy offensive contest. The decisive advantage went to Akron who turned seven more looks in to a few more baskets. Quincy Diggs was high man in the scoring column with 14 points followed by Demetrius Treadwell with 12 points and ten boards while Nick Harney and Reggie McAdams combined for 20 points.

Western Michigan proved no lead is safe in conference play, especially on the road where a double figure lead in the second half ended up a 74-71 decision at Northern Illinois on Sunday. That gave the Broncos their third consecutive win with nearly 53% marksmanship 8-17 effort from the perimeter led the offense. The defense allowed 47% shooting from the Falcons with both squads leaving points on the floor because of a combined 22-38 performance at the charity stripe. David Brown paced Western Michigan with a game high 26 points and six pulls with Shayne Whittington adding 15 points and eight boards followed by Connar Tava with a 12 point, seven rebound effort.
If you watched either team Sunday you probably wouldn't touch this game. Akron has really done well in this matchup with wins in nine of ten including seven covers. I'll look in to this one further but I am just going to watch...
