Storyline: Hawaii looks for two in a row when they take the road to face off with UC Riverside Thursday.
The Breakdown: The Warriors are in 4th place in the Big West at 5-4 and come in off a 69-60 victory over Cal Poly Sunday. Hawaii outshot the Mustangs from the floor 48.9 percent to 38.6 percent, but struggled from distance, connecting on just 2 of 11 to Cal Poly’s 10 of 28. The Warriors finished with a 38-22 advantage on the boards, though, and hit 21 of 27 from the free throw line. Sophomore F Isaac Fotu scored a game-high 26 points on 10 of 13 shooting, senior F Christian Standhardinger had 18 points and 12 rebounds, and junior G Garrett Nevels added 8 points. On the season, Hawaii is averaging 81.0 ppg on 47.4 percent shooting. Standhardinger leads the team with 17.5 ppg, followed by Fotu at 15.8 ppg.

Meanwhile, UC Riverside fell to 3-6 for 7th place in the conference after an 88-76 loss to Long Beach State Saturday. The Highlanders shot 50.0 percent from the floor and 29.4 percent from outside the arc to the 49ers’ 49.2 percent from the field and 52.2 percent from distance. UC Riverside also conceded a 38-33 advantage on the boards and committed 14 turnovers. Sophomore F Taylor Johns had a team-high 20 points and 11 rebounds, freshman G Sam Finley scored 17 points off the bench, and senior C Chris Patton added 12 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Through 23 games, the Highlanders are averaging 68.6 ppg on 43.9 percent shooting. Patton leads the team with 13.2 ppg, followed by Johns at 12.9 ppg.
Rick’s Pick: The line in this one is currently set at -4.5 for Hawaii. The Warriors hammered UC Riverside by 31 points three weeks ago so this should be an easy cover, despite home court for Riverside.
