The Princeton Tigers and Brown Bears will meet up on Friday night in what should be a decent Ivy League matchup.
The Tigers recently snapped a three-game losing streak with a 69-48 win over the Cornell Big Red. Besides that game against one of the worst teams in the country, the Tigers have had trouble defensively recently, allowing teams to shoot 46.5 percent from the field in their last five games. On the season they’re allowing just 67.4 points per game. Offensively, the Tigers shoot 45.8 percent and average 73.5 points, but they’ve been held under that total in three straight games. They are 7-6 ATS on the season and 6-3 ATS on the road.
USA TODAY Sports
The Bears have been playing their best basketball as of late, winning four of their last five games. During that stretch they’re shooting 42.4 percent and averaging 67 points, while the defense is allowing 36 percent and 58.4 points. The Bears have allowed no more than 66 points in their last five games and are playing some of their best ball offensively. They are 6-3-1 ATS overall and 2-1-1 ATS at home.
It’s difficult to go against the Bears in this game considering the way they’ve been playing as of late. Not only are they in a rhythm, but they also have a huge rebounding advantage over the Tigers. Princeton averages only 31.6 boards per game, while Brown is one of the better rebounding teams in the country with an average of 41 boards per game.
Add that to the fact the Bears are 5-1 ATS in their last six games against teams with a winning SU record and the home team has covered five of the last six meetings between these two teams.
Go ahead and back the Brown Bears with high confidence.
