The Yale Bulldogs will look to win their fifth straight game with the Pennsylvania Quakers coming to town Friday night.
The Quakers are still trying to prove they can win on the road, as they are 1-8 SU on the season. Despite shooting 45.3 percent on the season and averaging 70.8 points per game, that average drops to 44.2 percent and 66.6 points when taken out of their home arena. They haven’t scored more than 58 points in their last two road games. Still, the Quakers have won two straight games and have forced a combined 27 turnovers in those matchups. Against the spread they are 6-10 and 3-5 on the road.
The Bulldogs have won four of their last five games and are coming off of a pretty impressive road victory over Harvard. During this stretch they’re holding teams to 62 points on 40.2 percent shooting, while the offense is averaging 65.4 points on 43.4 percent shooting. At home the Bulldogs average 68.3 points and allow 64 points to their opponents. They are 6-4 ATS and 2-1 ATS at home.
While Pennsylvania is finally starting to show signs of life, it’s a team that has been absolutely brutal on the road. Until that part of its game changes, you’d be insane to think the Quakers are capable of competing away from home.
Yale is great defensively on its home floor and has won four straight home games. The Bulldogs are also 4-1 ATS in their last five home games, while the favorite is 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings between these two teams.
The Bulldogs have also won four of the last five meetings against the Quakers SU.
Ten points is still a lot to lay, but Pennsylvania gives you no choice with its constant road issues.
