Troy Arena will be rocking when the Georgia State Panthers visit the Troy Trojans on Saturday.
Georgia State's first season in the Sun Belt has exceeded expectations with a 10-0 mark giving the Panthers a three game lead in the standings. The offense is averaging close to 80 points and the defense has shown to be capable when needed. The defense got the job done in a 68-57 decision over Arkansas-Little Rock last time out by holding the Trojans to 13 points below their average on less then 37% from the floor. Georgia State mustered 40% accuracy with six more free throws and three more bombs to carry the day. Devonta White led all scorers with 22 points and five yanks with RJ Hunter tossing in 14 followed by a 13 point, six rebound effort from Ryan Harrow.

Troy is trying to make a push over the last month of the regular season to improve their playoff position but that has been easier said then done with defeats in six of seven where the scoring and defense have struggled to get on the same page. The scoreboard got out of hand in an 81-76 loss at Western Kentucky in what was a decent effort with the team refusing to go away despite facing an eleven points hole at the half. The shooting of both teams was about even with the Hilltoppers winning with a 28-17 edge at the charity stripe. Hunter Williams carried the scoring with 22 points on 6-10 from distance while Antoine Myers turned in a 15 point, six pull, six assist effort followed by Kelton Ford and Kevin Thomas with 13 points each.
Georgia State has been consistently favored throughout the conference slate and it hasn't mattered whether it's been home or away. Not a big chalk type of guy especially on the road so caution here...
