The Line: UAB Blazers -12.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The UAB Blazers will look to build on their momentum when they host the Tulane Green Wave.
The Green Wave have lost three of their last five games and are do so due to little offensive production. It’s been the problem all season, but 57.4 points and 39.4 percent shooting in their last five games are even lower than their season averages. During those games, they’re allowing 69.4 points on 43.3 percent shooting. On the road this season, they score 61.8 points and allow 72.1 points. They are 10-9 ATS and 4-6 ATS on the road.
USA TODAY Sports
The Blazers have only one win in their last four games, but that win came Thursday against Southern Miss. They shot 53.3 percent from the field and held the Golden Eagles to just 36.8 percent shooting. They improved to 12-2 SU on their home floor. Speaking of home court, the Blazers shoot 43.6 percent and average 74.4 points, while allowing just 64.7 points on 38 percent shooting when at home. Against the spread they are 9-11 and 4-6 at home.
It’s nearly impossible to back the Green Wave with the way they have been playing. They’ve lost their last three road games and the last two haven’t even been close. They can’t score the basketball and are at a huge disadvantage in the rebounding department. The Blazers average 45.4 boards per game, while the Green Wave manage just 33.6 rebounds.
The line may be a slight overreaction from the Blazers win just a few days ago, but it’s the only option if you must pick this game. After all, the favorite is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams.
Take UAB and the chalk.
