Second in the CAA is on the line the Towson Tigers visit the William & Mary Tribe Saturday.
Towson was penciled in as one of the teams to beat the Colonial preseason polls and have looked the part at times. The Tigers are indeed a team to keep an eye on as they are in a second place tie with William & Mary after winning four of five. The Tigers did fall at North Carolina-Wilmington 66-53 Monday as their offense was no where to be found at only 34.5% accuracy. That made the Seahawks 40.7% a winning effort with the home team having advantages in most areas. Jerrelle Benimon led the scoring with 17 points while hauling down 16 rebounds while Marcus Damas added eleven points and ten boards.

I'm not sure the experts gave serious consideration to William & Mary's chances in the CAA but after watching them I'm sure plenty of eyes are on them and their very dangerous offense that is averaging 73 points and is capable of more. The Tribe have won three in a row to pull in to a second place tie with Towson following an 82-70 decision over Northeastern. The Tribe leaped out to a 27 point first half lead before holding off a late Huskies come back to win easily. W&M put this one in the win column with a 55%-41% difference in shooting that combined with a 23-12 advantage at the line. Marcus Thornton scored 25 points with Tim Rusthoven and Omar Prewitt netting 13 points each while Brandon Britt tossed in 12.
I don't like to give up points in any game especially between teams that are considered elite in their conference which we have here. I give the Tribe the nod however with so much on the line at home...
