The Line: Creighton Bluejays -3.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Villanova Wildcats will take on the Creighton Bluejays in what will be the best college basketball game of the Sunday schedule. These teams met a couple of weeks ago and Creighton won the game fairly easy 96-68.
Since that game the Wildcats have won six straight and are playing some of their best basketball of the season. In their last five games, they’re scoring 78.6 points and allowing just 61.4 points. Of course, a lot of these games were against some of the worst teams in the conference, but they’ve scored 81 or more points three times in their last four games and have held opponents to 62 or less points in three straight. They’ve also won seven straight road games. The Wildcats are 17-5 ATS this season and 9-3 ATS on the road.

The Bluejays have won five of their last six games since the last meeting against the Wildcats, but haven’t been nearly as dominant. They couldn’t get anything going in a loss to St. John’s and only beat Butler by five points. Still, at home they shoot 49.9 percent from the field, 40.9 percent from beyond the arc and are outscoring teams by 20 points. They are undefeated on their home floor, 13-9 ATS overall and 7-4 ATS at home.
This is an interesting line and it really comes down to whether or not Villanova can bottle up Creighton’s offense the way Butler and St. John’s did. In their last meeting the Bluejays shot 56.9 percent from the field and made a ridiculous 21 threes. While Creighton is a great offensive team, I’ll chalk that performance up as a fluke.
Villanova has a solid defense and has proven it can go on the road and win. The Wildcats have revenge on their minds and the Bluejays have been a little shaky as of late.
Villanova is 5-1 ATS in its last six road games and 12-3 ATS in its last 15 games following an ATS win.
I’ll take the points in a game the Wildcats could very well win SU.
