The Line: Baylor Bears -5.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Oklahoma State Cowboys will go on the road to play the Baylor Bears in their last game before Marcus Smart returns from suspension. These teams met earlier in the month and Baylor won the game 76-70.
The Cowboys have been in an absolute free fall over the last week, losing six straight games and putting themselves in serious jeopardy of missing the NCAA Tournament. During their losing streak they’re averaging 74 points and allowing 80.6 points. They’re allowing teams to shoot 40 percent from downtown and 45.8 percent from the field. Offensive, besides Markel Brown, they really don’t have anybody who can create their own shot with Smart sidelined. They are 8-13 ATS overall this season and 3-9 ATS on the road.

The Bears have won two straight and are fresh off a double-overtime win over Kansas State. Since their win over the Cowboys, they are shooting 40.7 percent from downtown and averaging 75.6 points, while the defense has allowed 71.6 points on 44.5 percent shooting. At home they score 74.6 points and give up just 65.5 points on 39.2 percent shooting. They are 7-10-1 ATS overall and 3-5 ATS on their home court.
Although the Cowboys still don’t have their best player, they know they’re in a desperate situation and other guys are stepping up. In a three-point loss to Oklahoma, Le’Bryan Nash scored 15 and Phil Forte made three threes, along with Brown dropping 26 points. There’s still talent on this team and they’re more than capable of going on the road and beating a fragile Baylor squad.
Sure, the Bears have won two straight, but they’ve also lost seven of their last 10. It’s hard to trust them, even at home where they are 10-4 SU.
The underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings between these two teams and I’ll back that trend. Oklahoma State needs this win in a major way and will find a way at the very least to keep it close until the very end.
