The Detroit Titans visit UIC Pavilion to take the hardwood with the Illinois-Chicago Flames on Tuesday.
Detrot obviously doesn't own a record that makes us stand up and say wow but taking in to account the amount of talent that was lost from a season ago this has been a solid year. This is a dangerous team as well because this team does have scoring ability although that wasn't enough in an 83-82 overtime loss to Oakland on Friday. Oakland shot the ball better 45%-41% but 20 turnovers gave the Titans an extra 13 looks to keep things close. Juwan Howard Jr. saved the offense with a game high 33 points and six boards with Matthew Grant posting ten points followed by Ugochukwu Njoku and Evan Bruinsma netting eight points each with Buinsma grabbing nine boards.

I know Illinois-Chicago has dropped 14 in a row and few teams in the game can lay claim to that dubious distinction but I personally think the Flames aren't as bad as their 5-21 record states. I'm not saying this is a good team because good teams don't lose 14 in a row but many games have been close. A 59-56 defeat at Youngstown State on Saturday was one that got away with UIC owning an eight point half time lead. The Flames hit shots at just under 40% while holding the Penguins were held to 36% but won it on a 20-3 advantage at the line. Kelsey Barlow led UIC with 17 points, five pulls and six assists with Pat Birt tossing in 15 while Jordan Harks snared 15 rebounds.
Detroit is obviously the better team which we can say simply by looking at the records. Backing Illinois-Chicago is basically predicting an end to a 14 game losing streak and I'm not at all that bold or confident. I'm just making a pick...
