I'm sure all eyes were on Cincinnati on Saturday as they faced Houston after dropping their first conference game of the year to Southern Methodist. No problem as the Bearcats overcame a slow first half with a strong finish in a 73-62 victory. The Cougars actually shot the ball better at 53%-51% but 13 turnovers and 12 Cincy offensive rebounds led to ten more looks at the basket for the home team which was decisive. Sean Kilpatrick continued to fill the basket with 28 points and six assists with Justin Jackson and Shaquille Thomas adding 13 and eleven points while eight point efforts came from Titus Rubles and Ge'Lawn Guyn.

If Central Florida could muster a few more stops at the defensive end they would undoubtably have a few games in the win column. That hasn't usually been the case and it wasn't Saturday but the offense saved the day in a 75-74 decision over conference and instate rival South Florida. The boxscore was as tight as the final score with the Knights 51% from the floor combining with a few more looks giving the visitors a few more baskets versus the 49% shooting Bulls. Isaiah Sykes carried the offense with a game high 27 points with five helpers while Tristan Spurlock added 16 points and eight boards followed by Justin McBride and Staphon Blair tossed in 13 and 12 points respectively.
The world will be on Cincinnati because they are better and should win easily...right? Not exactly because the Bearcats are an abysmal 3-12 ATS in their last 15 road games which is hardly a confidence builder. Central Florida is 1-9-1 ATS in their last eleven home games so I'm sort of speechless...
