The Line: Hofstra Pride +4 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Delaware Fightin Blue Hens will look to get back on track when they play the Hofstra Pride on the road. These teams played in early January and Delaware won 86-79.
The Blue Hens just had their 13-game winning streak snapped by the Towson Tigers. In the 78-63 loss, they shot just 31.7 percent from the field and were outrebounded 50-38. Scoring hasn’t come easy for them in their last five games, as they’re shooting just 38.8 percent from the field and 29.2 percent from beyond the arc. On the road they average 77.7 points and allow 76.7 points. They are 12-7 ATS overall and 8-3 ATS on the road.
USA TODAY Sports
The Pride have lost seven of their last eight games, but are returning home after a two-game road trip. At home they average 69.2 points and allow 67.9 points. They average 66.5 points on the season, but they’ve only reached that total once in their last five games. They’re another team that’s shooting a lousy percentage from the field, as only 35.4 percent of their shots are being made in their last five contests. They are 12-8-2 ATS overall and 4-3-1 ATS at home.
With the way neither team can put the ball in the hoop, I’d consider waiting for the total to be released. That under may look tasty.
But from a spread perspective, I’ll go ahead and back the Blue Hens on the road. Why not? They’ve been money all season on the road and have won six consecutive meetings against the Pride.
Delaware is also 5-0 ATS in its last five games following an ATS loss and the road team is 9-3-1 ATS in the last 13 meetings between these two teams.
The Blue Hens remain the cream of the crop in the Colonial League, and I refuse to freak out over one loss.
