It’ll be a battle between one of the best and worst teams in the C-USA when the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs play the East Carolina Pirates.
The Bulldogs have now won four straight games and are soon hoping to lock up the C-USA title. In their last five, they’re averaging 81.4 points and allowing just 68.6 points. They’re even averaging 81.2 points and allowing just 71.8 points on the road. They’ve topped 80 points in five of their last seven games. They are 11-8 ATS overall and 6-5 ATS on the road.

The Pirates have lost three of their last four games and have only won two games since the calendar has switched to 2014. Usually a solid offensive team that averages 74.8 points per game and shoots 44.5 percent from the field, is averaging just 62.2 points on 41.3 percent shooting in their last five games. The ball just can’t go in the hoop, which is why their last three losses came when they scored 58 or less points. Defensively, they allow 73.3 points on 46.3 percent shooting. They average 70.6 points and allow 72.6 points at home. They are 6-11-2 ATS and 1-6 ATS at home.
The Pirates are capable of getting hot offensively and making this game interesting. The problem is their defense rarely allows for games to be competitive and the offense hasn’t been clicking the way we’re used to seeing. For the most part, the Bulldogs have been the most consistent team in the conference and even shoots extremely well on the road. They also average five more rebounds per game than the Pirates.
Sure, this is a lot of chalk to lay for a road team, but you’re really given little to no option with the way East Carolina has been playing.
You have to ride the side of consistency.
