The Towson Tigers look for a strong finish to the regular season when they visit the Northeastern Huskies.
Towson handed Delaware their first conference defeat on Monday by an an impressive 78-63 count and while it is likely too late to make a run at the top spot in the Colonial, it sent the Blue Hens a message should they meet in the playoffs. The Tigers didn't light it up on 44% shooting but that was far superior to the Hens 31.7% and totaled nine more field goals. Jerrelle Benimon was front page worthy with his 25 points, 18 rebounds and five assists with Mike Burwell adding 17 points and seven boards followed by Rafriel Guthrie and Timajh Parker-Rivera with 15 and eleven points with the latter grabbing nine pulls.

Northeastern is not going to win the CAA and were never really a consideration in most preseason polls. The thing that can't be ignored and what makes this a dangerous team in the playoffs is their unpredictability in that they can beat any team in the conference. Charleston got a first hand view of the tough side of the Huskies who routed the Cougars on their home floor 60-44 on Saturday behind 47% from the field while allowing under 30% accuracy. Scott Eatherton paced the offense with game highs of 22 points and ten rebounds followed by Reggie Spencer with 15 points and six yanks while David Walker chipped with ten. The starting five accounted for all but two points.
If you believe in trap lines this one certainly looks fishy although Northeastern beat Towson on the road already and has generally dominated this match up. My feeling is the Tigers need to play like the preseason favorite in the Colonial or they are over rated in my view...
