The Portland Pilots will finish their last four games of the regular season on the road, and their first game is against the San Diego Toreros. These teams met back in late-January and San Diego won 65-63.
The Pilots have won two games in a row and three of their last five since the loss to the Toreros. During that stretch, they’re shooting 47.7 percent from the field, 46.1 percent from beyond the arc and averaging 71.6 points. Defensively, they’ve allowed 69 points on 42.1 percent shooting. On the road, they average 72.6 points and give up 73.6 points. They are 17-8-1 ATS overall and 7-2-1 ATS on the road.

The Toreros recently snapped a four-game losing streak with a win over Pacific. They’re usually a solid defensive team, but they’re allowing teams to shoot 47.5 percent and score 70.2 points in their last five contests. Offensively, they’re averaging 64.8 points, which is also down from their average of 67.1 points. Possibly a return home will help spice things up, as they shoot 45 percent and average 66.6 points in front of their home fans. They are 13-11 ATS overall and 4-7 ATS at home.
For me this game all comes down to whether or not Kevin Bailey is going to play for the Pilots. He’s their leading scorer and has missed the last two games with a hand injury. He’s questionable for this matchup.
Assuming he plays, I’m taking the Pilots on the road. They’ve been money all season long away from home and are 4-0 ATS in their last four conference games. Meanwhile, San Diego is just 1-4 ATS in its last four home games.
The Pilots are an offensive machine and should be able to do just enough to hand Dan Diego its fifth loss in six tries.
