The Temple Owls shoot for back to back conference victories when the Connecticut Huskies visit.
Connecticut can score and defend as well as anybody in the conference which has the team right in the middle of the top heavy AAC race. The Huskies completed the regular season sweep of Memphis in an 86-81 overtime decision on Saturday despite not shooting the ball all that well. UConn sank shots at just over 39% but offset the Tigers 54.8% accuracy with 17 forced turnovers and a hefty 23 more free throws. Shabazz Kennedy saved the Huskies with a game high 34 points and five yanks with Ryan Boatright adding 21 days and six helpers followed by eight point efforts from DeAndre Daniels and Niels Giffey.

Temple's season won't be ending with the AAC title banner hanging from the rafters but they could certainly throw a Monkey Wrench in to the plans of the contenders on their schedule in the closing weeks of the regular season. Things might have turned out differently if the defense had been able to post some consistency but that hasn't been the case for the rebuilding Owls who picked up their second conference win by knocking off Southern Methodist 71-64. The Owls lost the shooting battle 48%-39.6% but sank six more bombs and seven more free throws. Leading scorer Dalton Pepper tossed in a game best 24 points followed by the twosome of Quenton DeCosey and Will Cummings with 13 points apiece while Mark Williams added ten points and eight boards.
It is so difficult to cover big spreads on the road and this is fairly large in my view. Connecticut has a lot on the line here so we shall see. This pick is based on potential and not much else...
