The Wofford Terriers take on the visiting Furman Paladins at the Benjamin Johnson Arena on Thursday.
Furman is looking to grab a few wins in the closing weeks of the regular season and possibly move up a notch or two for the conference playoffs to avoid early elimination. More scoring and a tougher defense would help reach that goal which we saw in the Paladins 76-67 decision over the Citadel on Saturday. The home team led by eleven early and held on thanks to 47% marksmanship and a strong defensive stand that allowed 37.5% shooting. Furman received a game high 23 points and five pulls from Stephen Croone with William Gates Jr. tossing in 12 followed by Charlie Reddick and Adonis Rwabigwi with eleven points each and 18 rebounds.

Wofford doesn't have the record or numbers that jump off the page but in reality this might be the hottest team in the SoCon with eight consecutive victories that has the Terriers sitting in third at 9-3 which is just a single game out of second behind Chattanooga. The Terriers have been laying the wood to opponents in this stretch but were forced to come from behind to knock off Appalachian State 64-58 on the road. The Mountaineers led the shooting battle 51%-45% but 15 giveaways led the way to 16 more Wofford looks which were put to good use. Lee Skinner led a trio od double digit scorers with 17 points and nine pulls with Spencer Collins and CJ Neumann adding 12 and eleven points.
Furman hasn't played all that poorly as of late and Wofford is a legitimate challenger in the SoCon who is riding an eight game winning streak so this pick is really just going with the flow...
