The Cornell Big Red shoot for their second Ivy League win versus the Yale Bulldogs on Friday.
Yale has thrown their name in to the mix of contenders in the Ivy League as they are currently tied with Harvard at the top with a 7-1 mark. The Bulldogs have won six in a row following a 66-65 overtime victory over visiting Princeton who has struggled in conference play. Yale trailed by eleven at the break before tying it with a big second half to force the extra session. The Bulldogs held a 43%-35.7% marksmanship edge but 16 turnovers and the Tigers owning advantages at the line and on threes. Justin Sears led the scoring with 17 points with Amani Cotton adding 16 points and eleven rebounds followed by ten points and five helpers from Javier Duren.

Struggling Cornell has the numbers that explain why things haven't worked out as they have been outscored 78-64. That meant running in to conference giany Harvard was probably not going to turn out well on Saturday and they didn't. The Crimson jumped out to a 14 point first half lead and were never challenged in a 67-44 road decision as a 16 point favorite. The Big Red mustered just 37% shooting and gave the ball away 16 times which was trouble with Harvard firing away at a heft 60%. Nolan Cressler was the Bulldogs lone offensive threat with 17 points on 5-7 from long range while Devin Cherry added seven points, six pulls and seven helpers. Altogether 12 players saw the floor but nobody else scored more then four points.
Yale has won six in a row and look like they could win the Ivy but beat a struggling Cornell by just four at home. Not surprising because this conference is as predictable as the weather but I would expect the Bulldogs are firing on all cylinders with a week off but then again who knows...
