The Temple Owls head south to FedEx Forum to tangle with the Memphis Tigers on Saturday night.
Temple was looking to carry over the momentum of their second conference victory in to their Thursday night bout with visiting Connecticut but their generally dependable offense struggled in a 68-55 defeat. This team needs to score to succeed but points were hard to come by on 34% shooting and 16 turnovers which made the Huskies 45% accuracy a solid number. Quenton DeCosey gave the offense 16 points and eight rebounds but was just 5-15 from the floor. Dalton Pepper added eleven points and and seven pulls followed by Anthony Lee and Will Cummings with ten points each with Lee posting six boards.

Based on what Memphis does over the final five games of the regular season, they can finish anywhere from third to fifth in the AAC. The Tigers took a step in the right direction with a 64-59 decision at Rutgers that was probably closer then it needed to be with the visitors seemingly on the verge of a double figure win. Memphis led throughout with a seven point lead going in to the second half but 48% shooting was tempered by 16 giveaways that let to 18 more looks for the Scarlet Knights who failed to capitalize on 37.5% shooting. Michael Dixon Jr. paced the attack with 15 points with Joe Jackson tossing in eleven while Shaq Goodwin and Austin Nichols scored ten points each.
I think backing Temple is hoping the Owls play their best and Memphis has a repeat performance of their narrow win versus Rutgers. Anything is possible with the big number but I'm hoping the Tigers come out with guns ablaze...
