Meanwhile, St. Peter’s improved to 6-11 for 8th place in the conference after a narrow 58-57 escape against Marist Thursday. Junior F Marvin Dominique scored a game-high 23 points to go with 9 rebounds, junior G Desi Washington had 18 points, including 4 of 9 from downtown, and freshman G Trevis Wyche added 7 points and 5 assists. The Peacocks outshot the Red Foxes from the floor 44.0 percent to 41.2 percent and from outside the arc 47.4 percent to 41.2 percent. St Peter’s also came away with a 38-26 rebounding edge and converted 5 of 8 from the free throw line. On the season, the Peacocks are averaging 63.2 ppg on 40.3 percent shooting. Dominique leads the team with 17.2 ppg, followed by Washington at 13.3 ppg.
Rick’s Pick: The line in this one is currently set at -2 for Monmouth. St. Peter’s scored a decisive 61-50 home victory when these two met two weeks ago and Monmouth hasn’t won a game in a month, although they’ve gotten close with two overtime losses and four by single digits. Look for the Hawks to end their gigantic slide and cover the modest spread.
