The Virginia Cavaliers improved to 22-5, 13-1 ACC after beating Virginia Tech 57-53 on Tuesday night. On the season, Malcolm Brogdon is averaging a team-high 12.3 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game. Joe Harris is averaging a second-best 11.6 points per game, while Akil Mitchell is averaging a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game. The Cavaliers are shooting 44.6% from the field while averaging 65.8 points per game as a team this season. Virginia is a good rebounding team, averaging 36.1 boards per game. The Cavaliers are on a roll as they have won ten straight games, all in conference play. Virginia will be back at home after playing three of four on the road. The Cavaliers have not lost a home game since the beginning of December against Wisconsin.
Virginia didn’t play great against Virginia Tech this week but they still managed to come away with the win. Notre Dame is a mess and the Irish have to be looking forward to the end of the season. The Cavaliers will make it tough for Notre Dame to score over 55 points, while Virginia should have no problem scoring against a soft Notre Dame squad. Virginia wins and covers at home on Saturday.
