The USC Trojans are struggling through an awful season and they are in last pace in the Pac-12 standings. USC is 1-12 in the Pac-12 and 2-10 in games away from home. Byron Wesley is averaging 17.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Pe’Shon Howard is averaging 10.5 points, Omar Oraby is averaging 8.6 points and 6.4 rebounds, and Nikola Jovanovic is averaging 8.0 points. USC is averaging 71.3 points and they are shooting 44.3 percent while defensively they are allowing 75.8 points and their opponents are shooting 42.7 percent. USC has lost their last seven games with their only Pac-12 win coming against Cal on January 22nd.
Cal is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games, 4-10-1 against the spread following a double-digit home loss, and 5-11-1 against the spread in their last 17 home games against a team with a losing road record. USC is 4-10-1 against the spread in their last 15 road games, 0-4 against the spread in their last four games, and 17-35-1 against the spread following a loss. The underdog is 3-1-1 against the spread in the last five meetings of these two.
This number looks too big and while I expect Cal to get the win I like USC to get the cover.
