The Line: Eastern Washington Eagles -7.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Eastern Washington Eagles hope to win their fourth straight game when they host the Portland State Vikings. These two teams played near the end of January, and Portland State won 92-83 thanks to 62 points in the second half.
The Vikings average 72.5 points on 46.5 percent shooting on the season, but haven’t been nearly as explosive offensively as of late. They’ve scored 65 or fewer points in three of their last five games and have made less than six of the nearly 17 three-point attempts they’ve averaged. Defensively, they’ve allowed 73.4 points on 52.2 percent shooting in the same span. They average 66.2 points and allow 75.6 points on the road. They are 10-11 ATS overall and 4-5 ATS on the road.

The Eagles have won five of their last six games and have all of a sudden put themselves in the thick of the Big Sky standings. During this streak, they’re averaging 82 points on 48.4 percent shooting and allowing 68.6 points on 41.9 percent shooting. The offense has been consistent all season, but the defense that allows 77.2 points on the season has really improved as of late. They average 78.1 points and give up 73.6 points at home. They’re also 11-11-1 ATS overall and 4-3-1 ATS on their home court.
You have to be impressed with the way the Eagles have played over the last week or so, and they’re shooting 42.1 percent from downtown on their home floor. The Eagles also have the huge rebounding advantage, as they average 36.7 boards per game and the Vikings average just 30.6 rebounds.
It should be a high scoring game, so it may be wise to wait for the total to drop. However, if you’re looking to place a wager on the early line, take the hotter team at home.
