The Syracuse Orange travel to Maryland to play the Terps on Monday night.
The Syracuse Orange dropped to 25-2, 12-2 ACC after losing to Duke 66-60 on Saturday night. On the season, C.J. Fair leads the Orange with 16.6 points per game while also averaging 6 rebounds per contest. Trevor Cooney is averaging a second-best 13.3 points per game, while Tyler Ennis is averaging 11.8 points per game and a team-high 5.7 assists per game. The Orange are shooting 44.8% from the field while averaging 69.6 points per game as a team this season. Syracuse is a decent rebounding team, averaging 35.1 boards per game. Syracuse had won three of their last five games by 2-points or less and it was only a matter of time until one of the close games didn’t end in their favor and now they have lost two in a row.

The Maryland Terps improved to 15-12, 7-7 ACC after beating Wake Forest at home 71-60 on Tuesday night. On the season, the Terps are led by Dez Wells, who is averaging a team-high 15 points per game. Seth Allen is averaging a second-best 12.5 points per game along with a team-high 3.3 assists per game. Charles Mitchell is averaging 6.7 points per game and a team-high 6.5 rebounds per contest. The Terps are shooting 44% from the field while averaging 72 points per game as a team this season. Maryland is one of the better rebounding teams in the ACC, averaging just over 37 boards per game. Maryland has lost three out of five, and five out of their last nine overall. The Terps will out on the road for this matchup; Maryland has lost three out of their last four on the road in conference play.
Syracuse has lost two straight and they will be fired up for this one on the road. Maryland needs this win for their resume, but I don’t think they will be able to score enough against the Syracuse zone. The Orange win and cover at Maryland on Monday night.
