The Seton Hall Pirates pay a visit to the DePaul Blue Demons for Big East hoops action Tuesday at 9PM on Fox Sports One.
Seton Hall enters this one fresh off a heartbreaking, but valiant effort at Creighton this past weekend. The Pirates saw a long three bounce off the backboard that would have won it at the buzzer. The Pirates managed to give the Big East’s top team a run without guard Sterling Gibbs who was suspended for a violation of team rules. Fuquan Edwin led the way with 21 and Gene Teague added 14 and 11 as he is starting to return to tip top game shape. The Pirates dominated the boards behind Teague’s effort and Brandon Mobley added 11 and 5 off the bench. The loss drops the Hall to 5-9 in conference play.

DePaul enters this one fresh off another loss but an encouraging performance at home versus Marquette. Two teams that have struggled on offense all season long combined for nearly 200 points as the Golden Eagles edged DePaul late 96-94 in OT. It was a two man show for DePaul as Brandon Young scored 29 and added 5 boards and 6 assists and Billy Garrett Jr added 26. Durrelll McDonald added 13 off the bench. DePaul was doomed by a mind boggling 34 foul calls that Marquette did a good job of converting into points at the line at key moments. DePaul now sits at 2-13 in conference play.
This game should be close from the jump but I like the Pirates resurgence up front with Teague to be the difference here. Look for another double double from the big man and look for Edwin to lead all scorers as Seton Hall pulls ahead late and never looks back with the cover on the road.
