The Evansville Purple Aces hope to snap a three-game losing streak when they host the Drake Bulldogs. These teams played one another on New Year’s Day, and Drake destroyed the Aces, 94-66.
The Bulldogs have lost five of their last seven games in what has been a brutal second half. They’re averaging 69.1 points on 45.3 percent shooting and allowing 68.5 points on 44.7 percent shooting. They are a solid defensive team, but struggle mightily to get anything going offensively on most nights. However, they are 11-1 SU when scoring 70 or more points. On the road, they average 62.8 points and give up 67.2 points. They are 13-13 ATS overall and 8-7 ATS on the road.

The Aces haven’t been much better, losing three in a row and seven of their last eight games. They average 68.5 points on 45.3 percent shooting and allow 73.5 points on 44.7 percent shooting. Obviously defense has been a major issue as well, but they’ve also failed to score 70 or more points in nine of their last 11 games. At home they average 70.6 points and give up 71.2 points. They are 11-12-1 ATS overall and 4-6-1 ATS on their home court.
With the way both teams struggle to put the ball in the hoop, I’d wait for the total to release and consider taking the under. However, for the sake of the article, you have to give me Drake and the points.
The Bulldogs absolutely ripped the Aces to shreds just a month ago and are 4-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss. They’ve also covered the spread in their last six meetings against the Aces. Meanwhile, Evansville is just 2-6-1 ATS in its last nine home games.
Getting the better team and the points appears to be a gift.
