The Cal Golden Bears have won three of their last four games and they are tied for third place in the Pac-12 standings. Cal is 9-5 in the Pac-12, 6-6 away from home, and 104 against teams ranked in the top 25. Justin Cobbs leads the Bears averaging 15.9 points and 6.1 assists per game. Tyrone Wallace is averaging 11.7 points, David Kravish is averaging 11.4 points and 7.6 rebounds, and Richard Solomon is averaging 11.3 points and 10.0 rebounds. Cal is averaging 74.7 points and they are shooting 46 percent while defensively they are allowing 69.3 points and their opponents are shooting 41.5 percent. Cal is looking to build their resume for any shot of making the NCAA Tournament.
Arizona is 11-5 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread, 2-5 against the spread following a win, and 17-8 against the spread against a team with a winning record. Cal is 3-7 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, and 1-4 against the spread against a team with a winning percentage over .600. The underdog is 4-0-1 against the spread in the last five meetings of these two.
Arizona is the better team and I expect them to get payback but at the same time this is a bundle of points and the Cats aren’t the best cover team around.
