The Pittsburgh Panthers travel to Boston College to play the Eagles on Wednesday night.
The Pittsburgh Panthers dropped to 20-7, 8-6 ACC after losing Florida State at home 71-66 on Sunday. The Panthers are led by Lamar Patterson, who in my opinion is one of the best players in the ACC, if not the country this season. Patterson averages a team-high 17.2 points and 4.4 assists per game this season. Talib Zanna is averaging a second-best 12.2 points per game while averaging a team-high 8.1 rebounds per game. The Panthers averages a solid 72.3 points per game while shooting 45.8% from the field as a team this season. Pittsburgh is one of the better rebounding teams in the ACC, averaging 36.6 boards per game. Pittsburgh has now lost three straight and the Panthers have lost five out of their last seven games overall. Three losses came at home against Duke, UVA, and Syracuse, while the other two came at UNC and at home against Florida State Sunday.

The Boston College Eagles dropped to 7-20, 3-11 ACC after losing at Miami 69-42 on Saturday. On the season, Olivier Hanlan leads the Eagles with 18 points per game. Ryan Anderson is averaging 14.3 points per game while pulling down a team-high 7.3 rebounds per contest. Boston College is averaging 68.5 points per game while shooting 44.5% from the field as a team this season. The Eagles are one of the worst rebounding teams in the country, pulling down only 30 boards per game. Boston College got back to doing what they do best, losing, after they earned their biggest win of the year over the Orange last week. The Eagles have lost nine of their last eleven games overall. Boston College will be back at home where they have only won one game in conference play.
Boston College has not played well this year, but they have been competitive against some elite teams, such as Syracuse, throughout the season. Pittsburgh lost their third straight game on Sunday and they have been struggling after playing well to start the season. I think the Eagles will give the Panthers a run for their money in this one, and I’ll take the points with the home team.
