UNLV Rebels vs. Colorado State Rams - 2/26/14Randy's Free College Basketball Pick Against the Spread
The UNLV Rebels hope to get back on track with a win over the Colorado State Rams.
The UNLV Rebels look to snap their two-game losing streak when they host the Colorado State Rams. These teams played earlier in the month and Colorado State won 75-57.
The Rams recently snapped three straight losses with a surprising blowout win over the Wyoming Cowboys. In the win they shot 50.8 percent from the field and dominated the glass by snagging 37 rebounds. They are now 13-4 SU when holding teams to 70 or less points. In their last five games, they’re averaging 70 points on 41.7 percent shooting and allowing 70.6 points on 49.4 percent shooting. On the road, they average 64.6 points and give up 72 points. They are 7-14-1 ATS overall and 3-5-1 ATS on the road.
The Rebels have lost three of their last four games, including a recent overtime loss to the Boise State Broncos. During their unlucky stretch, they’re averaging 64.8 points on 43.4 percent shooting and allowing 68.4 points on 44.9 percent shooting. They’ve topped 70 points only twice in their last five games, and they’re getting outrebounded during that stretch as well. At home, they average 71.2 points and allow 64.4 points. They are 16-10-1 ATS overall and 8-8-1 ATS on their home court.
The outcome of this game really depends on which UNLV team is going to show up, as it’s easily more talented on both ends of the floor. It also cancels out Colorado State’s really only advantage, which is rebounding. The Rams average 37.7 boards per game and the Rebels average 39.9.
Assuming the Rebels are looking to get back on track and will be up for this game, you have to take them and the chalk.
The Rams are just 3-9 ATS in their last 12 meetings in UNLV and are 9-21-1 ATS in their last 31 games overall.
I’ll take the better overall team at home.
