The Line: East Carolina Pirates -3 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Charlotte 49ers hope to snap a five-game losing streak when they visit the East Carolina Pirates.
The 49ers went from being one of the biggest surprises in the C-USA to falling flat on their face. During their losing streak, they’re averaging just 58.8 points on 39.3 percent shooting and allowing 67.8 points on 44.3 percent shooting. They’ve scored 70 or more points just one in their last nine games. On the road they average 69.7 points and allow 77.4 points. They are 10-12 ATS overall and 6-6 ATS on the road.

The Pirates continue to try and climb out of the C-USA cellar, but have won three of their last five games and two in a row. During this streak, they’re averaging 66.4 points on 44 percent shooting and allowing 64.6 points on 41.4 percent shooting. Surprisingly, it’s the offense that has taken a step back while the defense has stepped up to the plate. This is a team that allows 72.3 points on 45.7 percent shooting on the season. At home, they average 70.6 points and allow 70.5 points. They are 8-11-2 ATS overall and 3-6 ATS on their home court.
Although the 49ers can’t seem to win games in the second half of the season, four of their last six losses have been decided by three or less points. They find ways to keep games close and give themselves a chance to win. They also have the rebounding advantage in this matchup due to averaging 38.3 boards per game.
The 49ers have won four of the last five meetings SU and has covered the spread in the last four meetings. Meanwhile, the Pirates are just 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games following a SU win.
I’ll take Charlotte and the points on the road.
