The Eastern Kentucky Colonels host the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles at Alumni Coliseum.
Tennessee Tech might have flown under the radar this season as they stand a game out of fourth in the Ohio Valley with two to play. Whatever happens in the final week of the regular season the Golden Eagles are playing their best basketball with wins in five of six following a 69-57 decision over Jacksonville State on Saturday. The Gamecocks struggled to score on 38% and the Golden Eagles did not on 46% while dominating the glass 41-29. Balance was the name of the game offensively with Dennis Ogbe, Jeremiah Samarrippas and Dwan Caldwell scoring 13 points each with Shirmane Thomas adding ten.

Eastern Kentucky can finish as high as third in the OVC standings (with some help) or as low as sixth with defeats in both remaining contests. The score first Colonels prosper the higher they can push the score with the hopes that opponents can not keep up. Austin Peay certainly couldn't keep up in a 96-75 defeat on their home floor with both teams hitting at a blistering 58% with EKU connecting on 17-32 from long range. Glenn Cosey led the offensive charge with 27 points on 4-5 from distance while handing out nine assists while Tarius Johnson tossed in 24. Corey Walden and Eric Stutz netted 16 and 15 points respectively as the starting five accounted for all but 12 points.
These teams are similar in the way they go about their business and their business is scoring points. Eastern Kentucky is better at it and I'm hoping Tennessee State holds up their end of the bargain...
