The Line: Princeton Tigers -7 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Yale Bulldogs will play their third straight road game when they take on the Princeton Tigers. These teams met a couple of weeks ago and Yale won in overtime, 66-65.
The Bulldogs recently had their seven-game winning streak snapped in a 62-46 loss to the Colombia Lions. In the loss they shot just 36.4 percent from the field and turned the ball over 14 times. Still, they’ve been playing some of their best basketball of the season, averaging 67.4 points on 43.6 percent shooting and holding teams to 62.6 points on 39.9 percent shooting. On the road, they average 64.3 points and allow 69.2 points. They are 9-5 ATS overall and 5-4 ATS on the road.
The Tigers are coming off a 59-47 loss to Harvard and have lost five of their last eight games. During their shaky streak, they’re averaging 63.4 points on 41.3 percent shooting and allowing 59 points on 39.9 percent shooting. Their defense has been spectacular, holding four of their last six opponents to under 60 points. They average 67.1 points and allow 59.6 points on their home court. They’re also 8-9 ATS overall and 1-5 ATS at home.
This spread is interesting considering the way Yale has played over the last two weeks. These aren’t the same Bulldogs from the first half of the season, as they’re just one game back from first place in the Ivy League. Meanwhile, the Tigers have been mightily inconsistent and have split their last two home games.
The Bulldogs are 5-1 ATS in their last six conference games and 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings against Princeton. The Tigers are just 1-8 ATS in their last nine home games.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Yale won this game SU, which has been the case in four of the last five meetings, so I’ll gladly take the points.
