The Connecticut Huskies look to climb back in to the top four of the AAC with a win versus Cincinnati.
Cincinnati came with in seconds of essentially wrapping up the regular season AAC crown but Louisville's Russ Smith nailed an 18 foot jumper with seconds left to hand the Bearcats a 58-57 defeat and drop them in to a first place tie with the Cardinals at 13-2. Despite the outcome the nation's number four defense got the job done with just 40% shooting allowed which might have been a winning effort were it not for their own 28.6% from the floor. Sean Kilpatrick remained the top gun for the offense with a game high 28 points and six pulls with Justin Jackson adding eight points and seven boards.

Connecticut has fallen to fifth in the AAC, one game behind Memphis in the fourth spot. The Huskies have swept the season series from the Tigers but have struggled against SMU, Louisville and Cimcinnati. They struggled versus South Florida Wednesday before pulling out a 61-56 decision on the road in which they mustered only 22 first half points. UConn held a 43%-37.7% edge in marksmanship but won it with their perimeter shooting where they held a 9-3 advantage. Leading scorer Shabazz Napier tossed in 17 points and handed out seven helpers with Ryan Boatright and Niels Giffey netted 14 and eleven points respectively with only four points coming outside of their six man rotation.
There are times when I feel good about Connecticut and they lose and there are times when I don't like them and they win. Either way the Bearcats and the points is where I'm looking now...
