Tennessee Volunteers vs. Vanderbilt Commodores Pick, Odds, Prediction 3/1/14

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

The Vanderbilt Commodores have lost two of their last three games and they have slid into eighth place in SEC standings. Vandy is 7-8 in the SEC and 5-7 away from home this season. Rod Odom is averaging 14.1 points and 5.5 rebounds to lead the Commodores. Damian Jones is averaging 11.5 points and 5.6 rebounds, Kyle Fuller is averaging 11.5 points, and James Siakam is averaging 7.6 points and 5.4 rebounds. Vanderbilt is averaging 66 points and they are shooting 4.4 percent from the floor while defensively they are allowing 64.9 points and their opponents are shooting 40.1 percent. Vanderbilt is 3-4 in SEC road games.

Tennessee is 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games, 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, and 5-2 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread. Vanderbilt is 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five games following a game that they covered the point spread, 38-18-2 against the spread in their last 58 road games, and 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games against a team with a winning home record. The underdog has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two.

Tennessee has shown they can get it done at home even laying the big number and even as good as Vandy has been to us this year I am on the Vols.
