The Line: Charlotte 49ers -3 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Charlotte 49ers will play their last home game of the season when they host the Old Dominion Monarchs on Sunday.
The Monarchs are still searching for first back-to-back victories for the first time since January 16-18. They’ve won three of their last five games and are coming off a 70-63 win over the Marshall Thundering Herd. In their last five games, they’re averaging 60 points on 41.4 percent shooting and are allowing 64.6 points on 39 percent shooting. They’ve scored 66 or less points in three of their last four games. On the road, they average 61.4 points and allow 65.8 points. They are 13-13 ATS overall and 8-6 ATS on the road.

The 49ers continue to play ice cold basketball, as they’ve lost six straight games. During this streak, they’re averaging 59.8 points on 41 percent shooting and are allowing 70 points on 44 percent shooting. Those offensive numbers are nearly 12 points less and three-percent less than their season averages. They haven’t scored more than 68 points in six straight games. At home, they average 72.1 points and allow 68.6 points. They are 10-13 ATS overall and 4-6 ATS on their home court.
With the way both teams have struggled shooting the ball, I’d consider waiting for the total to be released and possibly play the under. After all, the under has hit in five straight home games for the 49ers.
But for the sake of the article, I’d go ahead and back Charlotte at home. It’s the last home game for the seniors and it will be an emotional game. Not to mention the team would love nothing more than to snap the dreadful losing streak in front of their home fans.
The Monarchs simply don’t have enough to matchup offensively if the shots are falling for the 49ers.
Give me the home team and the chalk.
