The Montana State Bobcats will visit the Montana Grizzlies Monday night at the Dahlberg Arena. These two rivals met earlier this month, and Montana won 70-66.
The Bobcats are coming off an overtime victory over Southern Utah and have won four of their last six games. During this stretch, they’re averaging 72.4 points on 44.3 percent shooting and are allowing 74.2 points on 49.6 percent shooting. Their lack of defense has cost them much of the season, as they allow teams to shoot 47.3 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from beyond the arc. On the road, the Bobcats average 63.5 points and give up 71.4 points. They are 10-15-1 ATS overall and 5-8-1 AST on the road.

The Grizzles have won three straight and seven of their last nine games. During their last five, they’re averaging 73.4 points on 50 percent shooting and are allowing 67 points on 48.4 percent shooting. They’re one of the best offensive teams in the country, shooting 48.2 percent on the season and are 8-3 SU when scoring at least 75 points. At home they average 74.8 points and allow 68.7 points. They are 9-13 ATS overall and 3-7 ATS on their home court.
Getting this line at 9-plus is a gift. Sure, the Grizzles are the better team in this matchup and have won the last seven meetings SU. However, this is a true rivalry game where the numbers can be thrown out of the window.
While Montana should win has dominated the series over the years, the last three meetings have been decided by five or less points. Also, five of the last eight games have been decided by single digits.
Forget the trends or how teams have been playing lately, this should be a close game like it has been over the last four-five years.
