The Savannah State Tigers heat out on the road to face the North Carolina Central Eagles Monday.
With only two games remaining Savannah State is a single game out of fourth which means they must win both and get some help. The Tigers appeared dead in the water a week ago but the offense has shown some life with victories in three of four that was capped off by 74-71 overtime decision at North Carolina A&T. Both teams shot the ball in the 42% range while combining for 45 turnovers. Deven Williams led the scoring with 19 points followed by a 13 points effort from Jeremiah Hill while Jyles Smith and Joshua Montgomery added 12 and nine points with Smith snagging eleven rebounds.

North Carolina Central has wrapped up the MEAC crown for awhile and to their credit there has been no let up in their play. The Eagle combination of scoring and defense has led to a 15 game winning streak with one of their more complete performances coming last time out in an 85-44 rout of South Carolina State at home. The Bulldogs were held to 28% shooting and gave the ball away 18 times while the Eagles 48% accuracy resulted in 15 more field goals. Jeremy Ingram led the offensive show with 25 points and five steals followed by a 21 point, eleven rebound effort from Jordan Parks while three others added eight points apiece.
The issue in backing North Carolina Central is whether they even care about covering the huge number. They have been winning big but this seems like a bit of a guess here...
