The Line: Eastern Michigan Eagles -13 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Eastern Michigan Eagles will play their last home game of the season when they host the Ball State Cardinals. These teams played back on February 12th, and Eastern Michigan won 73-62.
The Cardinals snapped a 10-game losing streak with a win over Central Michigan. In the 74-71 victory, they grabbed eight more rebounds and had 17 assists on 23 made baskets. That’s not what we’re used to seeing with the Cardinals, a team that averages 64.9 points on 40.5 percent shooting and allows 75.4 points on 47 percent shooting. Still, they could win back-to-back games for the first time since November 12-18. On the road they average 62.8 points and give up 78.8 points. They are 12-13 ATS overall and 5-8 ATS on the road.

The Eagles are playing some of their best basketball of the season, winning five of their last seven games. During their last five, they’re averaging 62.2 points on 37.3 percent shooting and are allowing 54.8 points on 30.9 percent shooting. Their defense is one of the best in the country, as they’ve allowed 65 or fewer points in seven of their last eight games. At home, they average 65.5 points and allow 57.7 points. Against the spread, they’re 14-11 overall and 7-5 on their home court.
Eastern Michigan took care of business fairly easily on the road in its earlier meeting. Asking for a 15-point victory on its home court shouldn’t be a big deal. The Eagles defense will completely shut down a Ball State offense that can’t score if its life depended on it.
The Eagles are 4-0 ATS in their last four home games, while the Cardinals are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against the Eagles.
Sure, it’s a lot of chalk, but Eastern Michigan is the much better team and it’s senior night.
Expect a MAC blowout.
