The Line: Duquesne Dukes +5.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
For the first time this season, the Massachusetts Minutemen and Duquesne Dukes will meet on the hardwood.
The Minutemen are hoping to bounce back from a road loss against the Dayton Flyers, a game in which they allowed the opponent to shoot 50 percent from the field. The road has been a struggle for the Minutemen all season, as they’ve lost four of their last six road games and won the other two by six or less points. On the road, they average 73.1 points on 48.6 percent shooting and allow 71.3 points on 40.7 percent shooting. They are 12-16 ATS overall and 5-5 ATS on the road.

The Dukes are coming off one of their biggest wins in program history, as they went on the road and beat the Saint Louis Billikens. In the win, they knocked down eight threes and forced 16 turnovers. It was only their second win in eight games. Now the Dukes return home, a place where they haven’t been great. At home, they average 73.8 points on 44.7 percent shooting and allow 72.8 points on 44.6 percent shooting. They are 11-5-2 ATS overall and 4-3-1 ATS at home.
This seems like the perfect spot to fade the Dukes, as they’re coming off a monster win and are playing a far more talented team. However, I just can’t bring myself to do it. I believe the Dukes will feed off the big victory and play even harder on senior night.
UMass has been a streaky road team all season and is just 2-5 ATS in its last seven road games against teams with a losing home record. Meanwhile, the Dukes have covered their last four games and are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven following an ATS victory.
I’ll take the Dukes and the points.
