The Holy Cross Crusaders welcome the Lehigh Mountain Hawks to the Hart Center in the Patriot quarterfinals.
For a team that has been accustomed to competing for the conference championship, this has been something of a down year for Lehigh with a 7-11 league record and sixth place. The main difference between this team and those of the past several years is that the scoring isn't nearly as potent. The Mountain Hawks have been outscored 70-67 but reaching 65 points consistently is a little bit of a stretch. Lehigh lost control of the season by going 2-6 down the stretch and if they are going to extend their season the duo of Mackey McKnight and Tim Kempton and their combined 26 points has to increase or get some support.

Holy Cross was a force the last eight weeks of the season as they reeled off an 11-3 record yet still finished third at 12-6 in a top heavy conference. In this span the offense wasn't close to being explosive but their defense played far above their season average with more then 70 points given up only twice. There really isn't much to change in order for the Crusaders to advance in the postseason if they can get their scoring in to the upper 60's and let the defense take care of the rest. Dave Dudzinski leads the attack with 15 points with Malcolm Miller averaging ten so assuming the opposition focuses on controlling Dudzinski the question is who is going to give the scoring a boost.
Obviously this isn't the same Lehigh squad we've grown accustomed to seeing the last few years although they have beaten some of the top teams. They haven't beaten Holy Cross but this line doesn't hold much value to me...
