The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles and the East Tennessee State Buccaneers clash in the A-Sun semis.
East Tennessee State was pushed to the limit by Lipscomb before finally prevailing 89-88 in double overtime to advance to the Atlantic Sun semifinals. The Bisons led for much of the game before trading the lead with ETSU late in regulation in a boxscore that was very contrasting. Both squads connected at 36% with Lipscomb using 13 more attempts to sink five more field goals while the Buccaneers turned 27 Bisons personals in to a 31-16 advantage. Jalen Riley shouldered the ETSU attack with a game high 28 points and ten boards with Rashawn Rembert checking in with 16. Lester Wilson followed with 16 points while the duo of Hunter Harris and Kinard Gadsden-Gilliard combined for 23 points and 18 rebounds.

Florida Gulf Coast began their defense of the Atlantic Sun Championship in style with a wire to wire 77-55 rout of Stetson that was as easy as it looked. The Hatters had that deer in the headlights look as they trailed by 20 heading in to the locker room and were never a factor after that. The Eagles shot the ball well at 48% and led 19-7 at the charity stripe while Stetson was only able to muster 36% marksmanship. FGSU received a game high 17 points and five yanks from Chase Fieler followed by Bernard Thompson with 16 while the twosome of Eric McKnight and Jamail Jones netted 15 and ten points with nine pulls between them. The Eagles went with an eight man rotation with each seeing at least 17 minutes.
Florida Gulf Coast almost had a bye in the opener it was so easy while East Tennessee State went double OT. I am leaning FGCU and would love to see the Buccaneers win but I'm undecided right now...
