The Line: La Salle Explorers -5.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The La Salle Explorers will play their last home game of the season when they host the George Mason Patriots on Thursday.
The Patriots have split their last six games and are coming off of a road loss to George Washington. Still, they’re playing some of their best basketball of the season and playing with energy. In their last five games, they’re averaging 75.2 points on 47 percent shooting and are allowing 76 points on 43.3 percent shooting. They are 3-15 SU when allowing 70 or more points. On the road, the Patriots average 70.3 points and allow 73.1 points. They are 12-13 ATS overall and 8-6 ATS on the road.

The Explorers have snapped a five-game losing streak with two straight wins. In both wins, they shot a healthy percentage from the field and shared the basketball. In the win over St. Bonaventure, they had 20 assists on 26 made baskets. This hasn’t been the case in their losses, as they’ve averaging just 61 points on 40.4 percent shooting in their last five games. They’re a much better team at home, averaging 75.1 points and allowing 71.2 points. ATS, they are 6-18-1 overall and 3-7-1 on their home court.
Although the Explorers have won back-to-back games, I’m not sure we can trust them as far as we can throw them. They turn the ball over a ton and can go ice cold on the offensive end at the drop of a hat. Meanwhile, three of the Patriots’ last five losses have been decided by eight points or less, which includes George Mason on the road and Saint Louis twice. Both of those teams are much better than La Salle.
George Mason has covered five of its last six games and is 6-1 ATS in its last seven games against teams with a winning home record. La Salle is just 2-10 ATS in its last 12 conference games.
Don’t be surprised if the Pats win this one outright.
