The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and UAB Blazers will meet in what should be a solid C-USA matchup to end the regular season. These teams played back on January 11, and the Blue Raiders won 89-84 in overtime.
Since then, the Blue Raiders have been playing their best basketball of the season, winning 10 of their last 11 games. They average 69.1 points on 44.4 percent shooting and allow 63.3 points on 41.7 percent shooting. In their last five games, they haven’t allowed any more than 55 points. On the road, they average 62.5 points and allow 63.1 points. They are 13-13 ATS overall and 4-10 ATS on the road.
USA TODAY Sports
The Blazers have won four of their last six games and are jockeying for position in the C-USA Tournament. In their last five matchups, they’re averaging 66.2 points on 36.5 percent shooting and are allowing 67.4 points on 42.2 percent shooting. They also continue to dominate the glass, averaging eight more rebounds than their opponent. At home, the Blazers score 73.6 points and allow just 66.4 points. They are 11-14 ATS overall and 4-8 ATS on their home court.
You have to take the Blazers at home in a pick'em considering it’s senior night. UAB is led by mostly upperclassmen, and this will be an emotional game that brings out their best. Not to mention they’ve been a solid home team all season that’s given some of the top conference teams a run, including knocking off Southern Miss a couple of weeks ago.
The Blazers are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 home games against teams with a winning road record. The Blue Raiders are just 6-18 ATS in their last 24 road games.
I’m all over the Blazers in this one.
