The Wichita State Shockers and the Evansville Aces face off on Friday in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.
The Wichita State Shockers finished the regular season unbeaten and are the number one seed in the MVC Tournament. WSU is 31-0 on the season making them 18-0 in the MVC and 14-0 in games played away from home. Cleanthony Early leads the Shockers averaging 15.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Ron Baker is averaging 13.1 points, Fred Van Vleet is averaging 11.9 points and 5.3 assists, and Tekele Cotton is averaging 10.4 points. Wichita State is averaging 75.4 points and they are shooting 45.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 59.9 points and their opponents are shooting 39.4 percent. Wichita State is looking to make a statement that they deserve to be a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament.

The Evansville Purple Aces knocked off Drake on Thursday to advance to this game in the MVC Tourney. Evansville is 7-12 in the MVC and 4-11 in games played away from home this season. D.J. Balertine leads the Aces averaging 2.5 points per game. Egidijus Mockevicius is averaging 10.5 points and 8.2 rebounds, Blake Simmons is averaging 9.4 points, and Adam Wing is averaging 7.3 points. Evansville is averaging 69.8 points and they are shooting 46.7 percent while defensively they are allowing 72 points and their opponents are shooting 44.4 percent. Evansville has not had a good year but a win here would make their entire season.
Wichita State is 5-0 against the spread in their last five MVC games, 7-0 against the spread in their last seven neutral site games, and 4-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record. Evansville is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games, 5-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games against Wichita State. The underdog has covered the point spread in six of the last seven meetings of these two.
The total in this one is set at 136.5 and I like the over. My stronger play is on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as the App.
