The Florida Gators and the Kentucky Wildcats face off on Saturday at the O’Connell Center in SEC college basketball.
The Florida Gators have wrapped up the regular season SEC Title and are ranked number one in the nation. Florida is 17-0 in the SEC, 16-0 at home this season, and 3-2 against teams ranked in the top 25. Casey Prather leads the Gators averaging 14.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. Michael Frazier II is averaging 13.1 points, Scottie Wilbekin is averaging 12.9 points, and Patric Young is averaging 10.7 points and 6.2 rebounds. Florida is averaging 71.1 points and they are shooting 45.9 percent while defensively they are allowing 58.2 points and their opponents are shooting 39.9 percent. Florida has looked unbeatable of late and have been strong finishers.

The Kentucky Wildcats are coming off of a win in their home finale but the reality is they have stumbled down the stretch. Kentucky is 12-5 in the SEC, 6-6 away from home, and 1-3 against teams ranked in the top 25. Julius Randle leads the Wildcats averaging 15.4 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. James Young is averaging 14.4 points, Aaron Harrison is averaging 13.6 points, and Andrew Harrison is averaging 10.9 points. Kentucky is averaging 76.7 points and they are shooting 45.2 percent while defensively they are allowing 66.5 points and their opponents are shooting 39.6 percent. A win here could give UK some hope of pulling off a win in the SEC Tournament.
Florida is 0-5 against the spread following a win by 20 or more points and 1-5 against the spread after allowing less than 50 points their previous game. Kentucky is 3-12-2 against the spread in their last 17 road games, 0-4 against the spread in their last four games, and 1-4 against the spread following a win. The total has stayed under in six of the last seven meetings of these two.
While Florida is clearly the better of the two, it is just tough to give Kentucky this many points in a big game and I will take the Cats to cover.
