Meanwhile, Iowa State dropped its second straight to Baylor 74-61 Tuesday, falling to 4th place in the conference at 10-7. The Cyclones connected on 40.0 percent from the floor and 12 of 29 from outside the arc to the Bears’ 47.4 percent from the floor and 7 of 19 from downtown. Iowa State matched Baylor on the glass 34-34, but committed 14 turnovers. Senior G DeAndre Kane scored a team-high 20 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists, junior F Dustin Hogue had 12 points and 5 rebounds, and sophomore G Naz Long added 9 points and 4 assists off the bench. Through 29 games, the Cyclones are averaging 82.4 ppg on 46.8 percent shooting. Ejiim leads the team with 18.4 ppg, followed by Kane at 16.7 ppg.
Rick’s Pick: The line in this matchup is set at -2.5 for Iowa State. The Cyclones topped the Cowboys 98-97 in a triple overtime thriller a month ago and although Ok State may have already done enough to get an invite to the big dance, they won’t leave anything to chance here. Expect the Cowboys to keep playing like their postseason hinges on the outcome because it very well could.
