The Tennessee Volunteers and the Missouri Tigers face off on Saturday in Knoxville in a SEC college basketball battle.
The Tennessee Volunteers have won four of their last five games as they hope to have played their way into the NCAA Tournament. Tennessee is 10-7 in the SEC and 13-3 at home this season. Jordan McRae is averaging 19.1 points per game to lead the Vols. Jarnell Stokes is averaging 14.5 points and 10.3 rebounds, Jeronne Maymon is averaging 10.4 points and 8.2 rebounds, and Josh Richardson is averaging 9.5 points. Tennessee is averaging 72.5 points and they are shooting 44.7 percent while defensively they are allowing 62.3 points and their opponents are shooting 41.4 percent. Tennessee has been known for late season runs and this year looks to be another where they have made one.

The Missouri Tigers have won five of their last seven games but they have some work to do if they are thinking of playing in the Big Dance. Missouri is 9-8 in the SEC and 6-7 in games played away from home. Jabari Brown leads the Tigers averaging 20.1 points per game. Jordan Clarkson is averaging 18.3 points, Earnest Ross is averaging 13.9 points and 6.2 rebounds, and Johnathan Williams III is averaging 6.0 points and 6.5 rebounds. Missouri is averaging 74 points and they are shooting 46.2 percent while defensively they are allowing 68.9 points and their opponents are shooting 41.1 percent. Missouri has an 84 strength of schedule which is working against them.
Tennessee is 6-1 against the spread in their last seven home games, 5-0 against the spread in their last five home games against a team with a losing road record, and 9-3-1 against the spread following a win by 20 or more points. Missouri is 6-13-1 against the spread in their last 20 road games, 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, and 2-9-1 against the spread following a win.
This looks like a big number but I don’t see the Vols having any trouble with it.
