The Citadel Bulldogs finished in last place in the regular season in the SoCon but their 10-point win over UNC-Greensboro on Friday lands them in this spot. The Citadel is 3-14 in SoCon play and 1-17 in game splayed away from home this season. Matt Van Scyic leads the Bulldogs averaging 14.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Ashton Moore is averaging 13.8 points, Brian White is averaging 11.3 points and 5.7 rebounds, and Marshall Harris III is averaging 7.1 points. The Citadel is averaging 67.5 points and they are shooting 43.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 74.5 points and their opponents are shooting 45 percent. It would take another huge effort for the Bulldogs to advance.
Wofford is 9-2 against the spread in their last 11 games, 8-3-1 against the spread in their last 12 neutral site games, and 7-1 against the spread in their last eight games against a team with a losing record. The Citadel is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games, 6-1 against the spread following a win, and 2-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record. The underdog has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.
Wofford is a huge favorite here and while the Citadel is sky high coming off of their win, they are in trouble here.
